Metro agreement
Hangzhou's Metro operator this week signed an agreement with the Shanghai Railway Bureau, under which the bureau will provide equipment maintenance, technical support on safety and operations, and staff training.
The Shanghai bureau will also provide maintenance services for Metro Line 1 in the future.
Meanwhile, seven spaniels were recently tested as sniffer dogs at West Xiasha Station at Metro Line 1.
Gentle and well-behaved, the spaniels became excited when they sniffed out something and displayed their talent for tracking and distinguishing different smells.
Spaniels love working and are especially good at finding explosives and blood, said Chen Weilie, a senior police officer at special police team of Hangzhou Public Security Bureau.
The Hangzhou Metro operator also plans to use German shepherds when the subway opens in October.
