Metro security steps
Following the terrorist attack in southwest China’s Kunming on March 1, Hangzhou’s Metro operator has put in place stricter security measures at all stations to ensure public safety.
All luggage and bags are to be scanned by security check machines, and passengers with drinks are being asked to drink their beverages in front of security guards.
Police officers will randomly select passengers waiting on Metro platforms to check their ID cards.
Police officers on patrol at Metro stations are also being equipped with tools to detect explosives.
Fully armed police officers will stop passengers who have prohibited items like knives, alcohol, gasoline, combustible gases or explosives.
