New Hangzhou Party secretary

Gong Zheng has been appointed as Party secretary of Hangzhou and named a candidate for the post of chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hangzhou People’s Congress.

Gong, 53, had been deputy governor of Zhejiang Province since June 2012. A native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, he joined the Communist Party of China in April 1985.

Gong obtained his PhD in economics from Xiamen University, where he was a graduate student in the Department of Public Economics and Finance.

Gong’s processor, Huang Kunming, will be appointed for other posts by the Central Committee of CPC.
