New Party chief
XIA Baolong has been appointed Party secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), replacing Zhao Hongzhu, according to a recent decision announced by the CPC Central Committee.
Born in December 1952, Xia was appointed Zhejiang's acting governor in August 2011, and governor of the province in January this year. He had served as deputy Party secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee from November 2003.
Zhang Jinan, vice head of the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, said at a meeting that the personnel change was made based on assessment of the overall situation, the need of work, and the actual situation of Zhejiang's leadership buildup.
