New projects started
Zhejiang Province last week started work on a total of 614 projects totalling 665.2 billion yuan (US$104 billion).
The three largest projects, each with an investment of more than 10 billion yuan, are Hangzhou-Lin’an Intercity Railway, Hangzhou-Fuyang Intercity Railway and the second line for the west part of Hangzhou Metropolitan Expressway.
The almost 35km Hangzhou-Lin’an Intercity Railway with an estimated investment of 11.3 billion yuan will connect with Metro Line 3 and 5. After its expected completion in 2019, the railway will run from downtown Hangzhou to Lin’an, a county-level city in northwestern Zhejiang, through several industrial parks and commercial zones.
Both Hangzhou-Lin’an line and the 25km-long railway to Fuyang, which cost 10.8 billion yuan, will drive at a top speed of 120kmph. Passengers can swipe their public transport cards to board trains.
The second line for the west part of Hangzhou Metropolitan Expressway is planned from Hangzhou to neighboring Shaoxing City. With a total investment of 26.8 billion yuan, the 98km-long highway will have six lanes for both ways, interchanging with Hangzhou-Huizhou Expressway (G56), Hangzhou-Xin’anjiang-Jingdezhen Expressway (G25), Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway (G60) and Hangzhou-Changxing Expressway (S14).
Apart from the above three projects, there are 14 more projects that will cost more than 2 billion yuan each.
Hangzhou Children’s Hospital is scheduled to open in 2018 and comes at a cost of 347 million yuan. A total of 500 beds will be available over 60,985 square meters. Construction at the crossing of Shangtang Road and Wenhui Road in Xiacheng District has already started.
