New railway line

The Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Railway will open by the end of this year, cutting the trip from Hangzhou to Wenzhou by three hours to 90 minutes.

The 34.7km inter-city line will connect with Metro Line 3 and Line 5 and have five underground stations. The Zhejiang Province Development and Reform Commission still needs to approve the project, but that is expected to happen soon. The planned railway will run from downtown Hangzhou to Lin’an and is expected to open in 2019.

Hangzhou plans to build three more inter-city railways — a 47.3km line to Haining with 10 stations, a 24.2km railway to Shaoxing with eight stations, and a 25km railway to Fuyang with eight stations.
