New trail for wetland

A new hiking trail will be built around the Xixi National Wetland Park for sightseers and trekkers. The 3.3-kilometer trail will start at the park’s north gate and lead to Zijingang Road in the east before turning south to Xixi Paradise resort. It is scheduled to open in April.

The Fu Causeway, which is 2.4km long and west of the planned trail, will also be opened to the public for free.

The floodwall in the south of the Xixi wetlands will be upgraded and the 2km-long embankment will be 4.5 meters high and 3.5 meters wide. The park plans to make electric carts available for rent.

The park operator decided to improve its facilities and services after the National Tourism Administration called it out for a number of problems in October.
