THE Hangzhou market administrator opened an online registration system in April to enable people to start small and micro businesses. In the first month, 10,614 applicants used the system to register company names and change information with a success rate of 88.5 percent.
By the end of June, the online system had handled 91,325 applications, accounting for 92.6 percent of all business registrations across the city. Previously, people had to go to a market administration office couple of times to get a unique name for their businesses.
