Organ donor honred
TEN Hangzhou “moral models” were honored last week for their good deeds. Hangzhou Party Secretary Zhao Yide announced the names.
Mark Terence Osbone was among those mentioned. Osbone worked diligently as an English language teacher at a local school. He had been in Hangzhou for six years after marrying a local woman.
He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage this year and passed away on June 29. Since he signed an organ donation agreement in his home country, England, his heart, liver, kidneys and corneas were donated to six local patients.
Osbone was conferred with the city’s highest honor for foreigners, the Hangzhou Friendship Award, in July.
