Peacocks are back
PEACOCKS and pigeons raised at the Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond near West Lake were let out of their cages for the first time since the city reported its first case of H7N9 bird flu on April 7.
The park has 24 peacocks and 210 pigeons and the birds have entered their breeding season.
The park is the only place in Hangzhou to display peacocks.
The park has enlarged the habitat for its peacocks in a bid to reduce the likelihood of bird flu infection transmission.
