Promoting Hangzhou through culture

THE fifth China Hangzhou Cultural Innovative Industry Exposition will be held at Hangzhou Peace International Convention Center from October 14 to 17.

It is co-organized by the Hangzhou government, Zhejiang University and the China Academy of Art.

Since its launch, the exposition has become an important platform to promote cultural industries due to its growing social influence. This year's theme is "Innovative City, Leisurely Life" and the event is designed to improve communication between domestic and foreign cultural industries while also promoting upgrades to the domestic sector.

The event aims to attract 1,500 exhibitors and 400,000 visitors. Business transactions during the exposition are expected to exceed 4 billion yuan (US$626.2 million).

The entire exposition area covers 300,000 square meters. There are four sections including the main and secondary venues. Hangzhou College Student Creative Design Exhibition will display the latest artwork by Hangzhou youths at the International City Zone in the main venue.

The secondary venue will host the Sixth China (Hangzhou) Seal Culture Expo.

Countries including the UK and Japan will participate in the exposition. Enterprises and organizations in fields such as arts and crafts, equipment making and photography will join the event.

Some famous colleges and universities such as Zhejiang University, China Academy of Art and Taiwan's Pingtung University of Education will also set up displays at the exposition.

Meanwhile, exposition organizers hope to attract visitors with various activities such as music festivals and sports.

The Hangzhou Innovative Life Festival will take place simultaneously with the exposition.

Meanwhile, an activity named "My Innovative Experience Trip" started in August to encourage locals to get out and experience the city's culture.

Places such as People's Bookstore, Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Museum and China Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum, Umbrella and Fan Museum have been selected to display traditional culture. Farmer Garden and Tongjia Village Garden allow visitors to experience rural life while Tianjian Ximi, Hangzhou Suixin Ceramics Experience Center and Chuangyi Hall provide other fun hands-on activities.

Through "My Innovative Experience Trip," visitors will have the chance to take part in various activities such as a one-day free fitness course at Physical Fitness Center, picking and tasting fresh fruit at Xiushan Meidi Farm and checking out the animals at Hangzhou Wild Animal Zoo.

"My Innovative Experience Trip" will arouse another wave of innovation mania and provided a perfect warm-up for the cultural exposition in October. It strongly promotes the healthy and sustainable development of Hangzhou's cultural industries.
