Qiantang Cultural Festival
The curtain for the 2nd Hangzhou Qiantang River International Cultural Festival will be lifted in June and remain open until December in Jianggan District. Fifteen major activities are planned including music, sealing art, performing art, poetry and sports.
A series of themed cultural products will be launched, including a newly composed symphony, publications on the Qiantang River, a documentary and a non-fictional book about the former Hangzhou Aircraft Factory, a sequence of poems written in literary Chinese, and the development outline on the future of the Qiantang River.
Cultural ambassadors of the festival are writer and playwright Mai Jia, ink-wash painter and art professor Wu Shanming, principal of an international school in Hangzhou, Alan Wilkinson, chair board of Alliance for Water Stewardship, Michael Spencer and pop singer Ye Xuanqing.
