Qingzhiwu's fancy coffee shops
People love to enjoy coffee in beautiful places; and cafe owners love to open their shops in beautiful places.
Therefore, Qingzhiwu - a former mountain track transformed a year ago into a scenic strip dotted with eateries and trees - boasts several fancy coffee shops.
The facelift was initiated by the local government turning Qingzhiwu into a happening place for foodies and hipsters, thanks to its stylish restaurants, cafes, and hostels.
Shanghai Daily has introduced its hostels and restaurants in last two Mondays, and today we turn to Qingzhiwu's cafes.
Perfume Wine and Coffee
Owner Ms Sun graduated from a training class at Sculpting in Time, a renowned cafe chain based in Beijing, and brings its techniques to Qingzhiwu.
In order to make coffee mellower, Perfume chooses high-end brands of milk and coffee beans as the ingredients. Some ingredients such as mint leaves are grown by the cafe.
Perfume not only serves up coffee but also offers wines and cocktails, and Sun employs a professional bartender to mix fragrant cocktails.
Mojitos are most popular among customers here. In China, this cocktail became famous after featuring in famous TV series "Beijing Love Story."
It is said that the sour, sweet and bitter taste symbolizes the ups and downs of life.
The cafe includes a yard with several tables, where customers can make the most of sunny winter days. It has free Wi-Fi, so you can easily idle away an afternoon over leisurely drinks.

Wepin Coffee
This cafe boasts several small outdoor gardens as well as a dozen indoor rooms with distinctive decor, such as "idyllic," "Mediterranean," "female" and "china-blue."
The female room features floral lamps, ornate paintings and exotic sofas; the Mediterranean room includes a white bulb-shaped lamp and an ocean-blue sofa, while the idyllic is defined by floral sofas and curtains.
With wooden furniture with cotton fabrics, the decor is simple and cozy, though sometimes costly.
Tables are hewn from logs, while fabric sofas are from a leading brand.
The cafe menu provides coffee, milk tea, juice, all kinds of tea and ice cream.

Think Coffee
Dim lights, soothing music, flowers, piles of books, strings of postcards, and art films played on a screen - together they set the aesthetic tone for this cafe. As manager Wang Xiao says: "We welcome people who have feelings for those things."
Think Coffee opened at the beginning of this year, attracting bookworms and art moviegoers. It shows art-house films every day at 7pm and runs its own informal library.
A customer who brings a book can take one of the cafe's. And anyone who sends a postcard to the cafe will get a free cup of coffee next time they drop in.
Staff buy book they like to fill up the bookshelf. "Showing people our taste helps them bring better books," explains Wang.
Featuring three floors, Think Coffee has enough space so that customers can watch a film at the first floor, read a book at second floor, have a party at third floor, or play pool in the basement.
The cafe has a range of coffees and makes delicious milk tea. Its chef is now experimenting with some fusion cuisine.
