Qixi marriages drop

Tuesday was Qixi Festival, the traditional Chinese Valentine’s Day, and 1,074 couples registered for marriage, according to the Hangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau.
The number dropped compared with last year. An employee of the bureau said there have been more lucky days for marriage registrations this year and Qixi registrations were affected by the hot weather.
