Record plate lottery

A RECORD 642,593 individuals and institutions will take part in this month’s car plate lottery. Their chances of being successful are 0.8 percent — compared with 1.2 percent in February.
The 634,297 individuals and 8,213 institutions will compete for a monthly ration of 7,180 car plates, Hangzhou authorities said.
Last month 603,971 competed for 7,189 car plates.
The lottery will be held on March 26.
