Restaurants suffer
CHINA’S anti-corruption austerity campaign has inadvertently hurt the restaurant and hotel sectors, and the city government issued a guideline to help local caterers and hoteliers change marketing strategies.
Restaurants and hotels could try to promote their businesses using social media like WeChat and weibo, the guideline suggests.
Hotels are urged to cut power consumption to save costs. A 20 percent deduction of corporate income tax will be applied to small and medium-sized enterprises in the hospitality industry.
Subsidies of up to 300,000 yuan will be given to Hangzhou restaurants that open outlets in other parts of China or abroad.
