Ring road complete

The fourth phase of Qiutao Road S. opened to traffic on Thursday, marking the completion of the city’s Inner-Ring Road, a 40-kilometer freeway loop around downtown.
The new stretch of Qiutao Road S., between Fuxing Road Interchange in the south and Qingjiang Road Interchange in the north, is 3.3 kilometers long and six-lane wide. It can cut the driving time from Shide in the north to the Binjiang area south of the Qiantang River to only 20 minutes.
The completion of the last link of the Inner-Ring Road is expected to ease traffic jams on the elevated Shangtang Zhonghe Road.
