Road work

A project to widen the west section of the Hangzhou-Raocheng Highway will begin with construction at sections between Hangzhou and Zhuji in the neighboring Shaoxing City, official sources revealed after a meeting in Shaoxing last week.

The Hangzhou-Raocheng Highway will add six lanes in portions connecting Yuhang, Lin’an, Fuyang, Xiaoshan in Hangzhou and Zhuji in Shaoxing. The project will cover a total length of over 97 kilometers and is designed to handle a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.

The ongoing expansion of the Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Highway was also discussed at the recent meeting. This project from Hangzhou Hongken transport hub to Wucheng District of Jinhua City in the south of Zhejiang Province is 150.8 kilometers long. The highway will be widened to eight lanes in both directions with a designed speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour. Work on the project will be accelerated and is expected to be complete by year-end.
