Five countries from South America introduced a package promotion in Hangzhou last weekend, aiming to lure more Chinese visitors.
Representatives from Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay made presentations highlighting their countries’ tourism products. Over 20 travel agencies participated in the meeting as well.
The South American countries’ officials talked about leisure tourism opportunities as well as longer journey products. Li Hong, director of the Hangzhou Tourism Commission, said there is great potential for more local people to travel abroad.
“The number of Hangzhou citizens traveling abroad this year is expected to reach 1 million,” he said.
