Scoot to Hangzhou
Singapore Airlines’ low-cost carrier subsidiary Scoot will take over the Hangzhou route, which currently is served by its regional affiliate SilkAir, from October 25, according to the airlines website. Scoot will use its new Boeing 787-8 aircraft on the route and increase frequency from four to five times a week in December. Hangzhou will be Scoot’s fifth destination in China after Tianjin, Shenyang, Qingdao and Nanjing. According to SilkAir, the move comes as yields across the region are under pressure, and is an effort to “better optimize the utilization of SIA Group’s resources and present a better match of capacity to demand.”
