Self-help re-entry

STARTING from yesterday, Hangzhou residents who hold a valid Hong Kong and Macao Travelling Pass can apply for re-entry at the self-help service machine in most entry-exit administration offices of Hangzhou Public Security Bureau. The self-help service can save 80 percent of the original time taken to get the application processed by officers.

The self-help machines have been undergoing test runs since April 8 at the reception hall for Chinese citizens to travel overseas of Hangzhou Public Security Bureau. More than 20,000 applications have been processed so far. The machines are yet to be put in use in Shangcheng, Xiaoshan and Yuhang Districts and surrounding counties.

Those whose passes will expire in less than four months or hold a travel pass issued in Zhejiang Province but have their hukou (permanent residency) registered elsewhere cannot get their applications processed at the machines. The same rule also applies to those who hold a travel pass issued out of Zhejiang Province. Re-entries for business purposes also need to be processed by officers.
