A shopping and recreational center will emerge on the basement level of Hangzhou East Railway Station early next year to serve the needs of travelers.
Carnival, as the center is named, has a total space of more than 16,000 square meters. It will have restaurants, cafes, bookstores, game parlors, and a spa. About 45 percent of the shops will be restaurants.
The developer said the station receives about 200,000 people on an average day. This guarantees vendors in the center with a large volume of customers.
Nearby hotels, office buildings and a conference facility will also add to the flow of people in the center.
