HANGZHOU is planning to double software and information and technology industry revenue by 2016, government officials said after it was named China’s “Famous Software City.”
Last year, software and information technology revenue reached 210.8 billion yuan (US$33.9 billion) to record year-on-year growth of 30.5 percent in Hangzhou.
The city was given the software city title at a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ceremony.
