Speedy progress
ALL the tunnels, bridges and roadbeds for the Hangzhou-Changsha High-Speed Railway within the border of Zhejiang Province have been completed after three years' work.
Workers will start laying the tracks in October and there will be a test run next June, according to the project schedule.
The fast rail is expected to go into service by the end of next year. It will cut the journey from Hangzhou to Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, from 12 to four hours. A trip from Hangzhou to Guangzhou will be shortened from 18 to six hours.
