Spending 130b yuan

More than 130 billion yuan will be invested in prominent projects in Hangzhou this year, including subway and railway establishments, said local authorities.

Construction of the second phase of Metro Line 2, the first phase of Metro Line 5 and the first phase of Metro Line 6, as well as several new roads, should start this year.

The first phase of Metro Line 2, leading to the city’s western side, is expected to start running in June.

Construction also will start this year on the Hanghuang High-speed Railway allowing travel between Hangzhou and Mount Yellow in Anhui Province with only an hour-and-a-half trip.

Also planned is a building complex with an area of 100,000 square meters that will include 130-meter-high “twin towers.” One will be a 29-floor hotel and the other a 28-floor office building. Also, the complex features a five-store underground space. The complex will stand in the city center’s Wulin Square, and will be finished by 2019.

Also, 33.2 billion yuan will be invested in people’s wellbeing, including a project to deliver water from Qiandao Lake, as well as plazas, hospitals and schools.
