Station closing

HANGZHOU South Railway Station will close for renovations and expansion once Hangzhou East Railway Station opens on July 1.

Most of its services, including high-speed trains, will move to Hangzhou East Station. The remainder will be switched to the Hangzhou Railway Station, officials said.

Travelers going to Shanghai, Ningbo, Nanjing and Changsha will depart from Hangzhou East Station, a new hub capable of handling 250,000 to 300,000 passengers a day - almost equal to that of the Shanghai Railway Station.

Passengers are advised to take Metro Line 1 to reach the Hangzhou East Station as the surrounding area will still be under construction. A Metro station at the hub is expected to open on the same day.
