The Hangzhou government will spend 1.12 billion yuan on road maintenance this year, the most in the city’s history.
The government said 600 million yuan will be spent on highway maintenance and 520 million yuan on repairing ordinary roads.
The Hangzhou Highway Maintenance Company recently used the so-called “hot in-place asphalt recycling” technology to renovate Hangzhou-Anhui Expressway. A train of asphalt milling, recycling and paving equipment can repair roads at a speed of 1,000 meters a day and recycle old asphalt.
City authorities also vowed to step up enforcement of traffic violations.
