Sunshine cabbies

HUANG Feihua, a taxi driver with 14 years' experience, joined other cabbies to form the "Sunshine Fleet" to help people in need.

In September Huang heard on the radio that a critically wounded baby was on the way from Yiwu City to Hangzhou for treatment and his parents didn't know the location of Zhejiang Provincial Children's Hospital. Huang drove to the highway to meet them and brought the baby to the hospital in 11 minutes, helping save the child's life.

Huang, 51, and his "Sunshine Fleet" drivers had helped many people before they started the charity service. They not only transport poor patients free of charge, but also donated 10,000 yuan (US$1,590) to children in quake-devastated Wenchuan area in Sichuan Province. They also offer free rides to senior people on holidays and to students going to the national college entrance exams.

"These are small things because I'm more familiar with roads in Hangzhou," Huang said.
