Swimmers win gold

CHINESE swimming superstars Sun Yang and Ye Shiwen, both from Hangzhou, cruised to victory on Wednesday at the National Swimming Championships in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
Sun won the men’s 400m freestyle while Ye took gold in the women’s 400m individual medley.
Sun, the Olympic champion in both the 400m and 1,500m freestyle, led from the start, clocking a time of 3 minutes 45.12 seconds, 4.12 seconds ahead of Hao Yun. Wang Kecheng was third in 3:49.30.
Ye recorded a time of 4:30.84, the world’s best this year in the women’s 400m individual medley, to finish ahead of Zhou Min and Zhang Chenyao.
