Tea plants damaged
Many Longjing tea gardens are seeing their crops damaged by high temperatures as the heat wave, the worst in recorded history, has scorched the region since July. Many tea bushes are withering and turning brown. Local tea growers are trying to save their groves using such methods as watering them regularly, setting up shade nets over plants or trimming their branches.
