Tourism revenue
TOURISM revenue for the first half of the year surged 21.2 percent year on year in Hangzhou, Vice Mayor Zhang Jianting said.
Revenue figures touched 54.7 billion yuan (US$8.5 billion) over the first six months. The suburban Tonglu, Chun'an and Jiande areas outpaced other districts and counties in drawing visitors.
Domestic business climbed 22.4 percent to 48.5 billion yuan while business revenue in foreign currencies rose 17.5 percent to US$956 million.
More than 1.39 million visitors stayed overnight, and the city, nicknamed Heaven on Earth, attracted 33.8 million Chinese visitors during the period.
