Train travel up 18%

About 220 million passengers will take planes, trains or buses in Zhejiang Province during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, which started yesterday and runs through February 24.
Among them, 12.44 million will take the trains, an increase of 18.3 percent compared with last year.
It is predicted that the peak time for travel will arrive on January 23-30, and February 5-7. This year, travelers during the Spring Festival rush may encounter unfavorable haze and freezing weather.
This year’s Spring Festival travel rush is 11 days earlier than last year. Train tickets for travel before January 28 from Hangzhou to Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Hunan provinces have already been sold out.
