Transport hub
THE opening of Xiaoshan International Airport's Phase II in the fourth quarter this year will be accompanied by a new transport hub to make getting around easier.
The giant transfer center will be in front of Tower 1 at the airport, enabling passengers to move between planes, Metro, buses and taxis with ease.
Four parking structures will be built around the center, providing 4,682 car spaces. About 2,300 of those slots will be reserved for taxis.
Xiaoshan International Airport is expected to handle more than 25.6 million passengers a year after the completion of Phase II. It includes two terminal towers and one new runway.
By 2050, 65 airport-related infrastructure projects will be completed at a cost of 93.5 billion yuan (US$14.8 billion) in Hangzhou.
