Underground mall

A subterranean shopping mall under the city’s Wulin Square will open to business next year. The mall has three levels, totaling 70,000 square meters, about the size of 10 football fields. The lowest level is a parking lot with 883 spaces and will open around October.

The underground mall is part of a subway project in the square, which had been blocked up for eight years. The square reopened recently, featuring a music fountain and a 3D light show at night.

The light show starts at 8pm every day if the weather is good. If the number of people in the square exceeds 10,000, all entrances to the square will be closed to prevent a stampede. Crowds will disperse through the nearby Zhejiang Exhibition Hall.
