Visit from Denmark

After opening a new Danish visa application center in Hangzhou earlier this month, the Consulate General of Denmark in Shanghai last week came to the city to promote tourism.

More than 30 local travel agencies and tourism authorities were present to learn about Hans Christian Andersen’s native home.

“Hangzhou is known for its eco-friendly attitude, tourism, culture, IT development and innovation, and we think we look for cooperation with an area that has things in common with us,” said Nicolai Prytz, the counsel general of Denmark in Shanghai.

A new flight route will directly connect Hangzhou and Denmark’s capital Copenhagen, making Hangzhou the third city on the Chinese mainland with a direct flight route to Denmark.
