Volunteering plan

THE city is considering a series of measures to encourage more people to do volunteer work, officials said.
The city now has 917,000 registered volunteer workers and 2,953 volunteer organizations. Officials said the city had already launched a program to train 100 leaders in the field. They would be dispatched to various districts to lead volunteering activities to help cultivate a spirit of helping others in need.
