Women make IT history

More than 40,000 IT professionals from home and abroad have gathered at Yunqi Convention, which kicked off in Hangzhou on Wednesday.
Around 24.2 percent of the participants are female professionals, the highest in the convention鈥檚 history.
鈥淭here are more and more female participants in recent years, especially among the young age group as female account for 31.6 percent of the participants born in the 1990s,鈥 said Zhu Feng, a staff member of Alibaba Group in charge of the preparation of the convention.
Among the participants, 70 percent are in the Internet industry, according to the organizer. As many as 800 participants are expected to deliver speeches at the convention.
