Xianghu Lake鈥檚 next phase

The third phase of the Xianghu Lake Tourism Resort will open to the public on October 1. The new phase will enlarge the resort by about 6.6 square kilometers to 25 square kilometers. Meanwhile, the water area will also expand to 6.1 square kilometers, as big as the West Lake.鈥￢isitors can explore the resort along a 7.6km scenic trail.
There is also a 21km path around the lake that’s perfect for strolling or jogging.鈥〢 total of 40 bridges were added in the third-phase of construction, bringing the total number to 108. Fields of flowers covering the equivalent of over 200 football fields have been planted with cosmos and sunflowers.
The resort is expected to be blooming with rape flowers and cherry blossoms next spring.鈥￢isitors can board a boat at Dingshan Square or Hushan Square to tour the lake. There’s also a sightseeing tram that departs the Laohudong Visitors Center. Bike rentals are available inside the resort, too.鈥㎝etro Line 1 has a stop at Xianghu Lake in Xiaoshan District, which is about 20 kilometers from downtown Hangzhou.
