Yan’an Road revamp

Yan’an Road, a vibrant street of commerce and landscape in Hangzhou, aims to be one of the top shopping streets in the world after revamp, according to a Metropolitan Express report.
Dubbed as Hangzhou No. 1 Street, Yan’an Road will be a key part to construct the city into an international commerce and trade center.
The overall plan and detailed project is expected to be decided by the end of this year, and the whole project will be completed by 2022 when the city hosts Asian Games.
Museums, art centers and festival activities are likely to be added to the commercial street to make it more attractive.
Visitors will be able to visit intelligent supermarkets, artificial intelligence restaurants, self-service shops, intelligent entertainment and other state-of-the-art commercial patterns along Yan’an Road.
Night shows, festival parades, fashion shows and street performances will also become a main feature of the street. And high-tech workshops, children’s playgrounds, aquariums and low-carbon lifestyle experience halls will also be set up in the commercial buildings.
