VOLUNTEERS in Lushiyi community gave 27 emergency alarm sets to seniors on December 16. These consist of an alarm button and a wireless transmitter which the senior keeps and a receiver retained by the volunteer paired with the elderly person.
The alarm with a range of 200 meters notifies volunteers if the seniors, who live alone, need assistance, according to Gu Yuqin of the neighborhood committee.
