Enjoying door-to-door service
Xinhua neighborhood has launched a new project that brings fresh produce to the community to make life more convenient for residents, especially seniors.
The residential community is on Xinhua Road and isn’t close to fresh markets. One third of the residents are over 60, and many can only go to supermarkets for fruit and vegetables, where the prices are usually higher and variety is lacking.
Zhang Jinda has decided to help resolve the situation by leading a group of five volunteers to bring fresh vegetables and fruit to the community every morning. The produce is often sold out within an hour.
“I really appreciate the neighborhood committee for solving our problem and we are grateful to the volunteers for their hard work,” said a senior resident surnamed Li. “They made our lives easier.”
