Markets rank as best in city
Nine standardized food markets in Changning ranked as the top in Shanghai when they were evaluated on their food tracing management systems.
The markets had an average rank of third in January and first in February.
Meitian Taiyang Market was sixth in January and first in February. Meitian Pingtang Market was second in February.
All nine markets were from the Meitian franchise. Meitian’s tracking system was significantly improved by its timely updates about vegetables and pork.
The Shanghai Municipal Government has stipulated that food safety needs to be improved in the city’s food markets.
Meitian’s Pingtang Market is the district’s first food market to operate like a supermarket. Everyday some products will be offered at a discount.
