Vocational students in spotlight at art event
A SCHOOL in Changning District for students with mental disabilities launched its 7th art festival earlier last month.
Heads and representatives from over 30 organizations attended the event, which was held at the China Welfare Institute’s Little Friends Theater.
Talented students from Changning Primary Vocational School took center stage at the festival. One student named, Wang An, demonstrated her skills on the pipa, a lute-like traditional Chinese music instrument.
Another student, Yu Tianli played piano while singing. His song, entitled “My future is Not Simply a Dream,” was accompanied by a performance from the school’s dance team.
Professional actors and actresses from the Shanghai Dance Theater, the Shanghai Film Actors Theater and the Shanghai Film Dubbing Studio were also on hand with displays and performances of their own during the event.
