Park center helps make talent posts accessible

Shanghai’s first technical title application center has been launched in Hongkou District to make it more convenient for talent to register in the district.

Professionals working at the Shanghai Garden Lane Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Industrial Park no longer need to rush to the district talent service center repeatedly to apply for the title of a technical post, but can finish the procedure at the newly opened center within the park.

Ming Tingyu, an employee with the Shanghai Anyue Energy Saving Technology Co. became the first customer to submit an application for the title of intermediate engineer at the center within the Party construction service center of the Guangzhong Road Subdistrict.

The industrial park has over 70 companies, mainly on Internet sectors such as the Hupu Culture and Gaodun Education, two popular websites, as well as the Anyo Charging that serves electric vehicles.

The Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange and the Shanghai Energy Saving Center are also based in the park.

Over 4,300 employees, mainly young professionals from out of Shanghai are working for the companies and institutes.

The subdistrict has received many complaints that it was difficult for those professionals to apply for professional titles as well as for residence permits and accommodation, said Qin Yong, director with the community Party construction service center.

“Some professionals complained they had to go to and from the talent service center which is about 3 kilometers away from the industrial park,” Qin said.

The center then cooperated with the district human resources and social security bureau to open the new center to receive applications for professional titles.

Over 20,000 employees from neighboring office buildings and industrial parks within 15 minutes’ walk will also benefit from the new center.
