10 information and culture centers planned

By 2012, Jiading will have built 10 culture and information industry centers.
The number of enterprises in these centers is expected to exceed 500. More than 10 such enterprises will be built with a national profile.
The revenue from culture and information industries will reach 50 billion yuan (US$7.324 billion) and the trade volume of e-business 100 billion yuan.
The district has already attracted more than 100 such enterprises including the high-profile baidu.com and 360buy.com.
Shanghai Culture & Communication Industry District Incorporated (Oriental Wisdom Valley) has been listed as one of the ten key bases and its first stage of construction work is now in full swing.
It is planned to attract fifty culture and information enterprises within the year, with a taxation goal of 150 million yuan.
Last November, Jiading became a showpiece of Shanghai's culture and information industry which now has become the district's new designation.
Yang Jian, an official from the district's economic commission, said the development of culture and information industries will be conducive to Jiading's change in industrial structure from labor-intensive to intellect-intensive.
"It is also a main focus to accelerate the cultivation of modern service industries and a new boosting point of Jiading's economy," Yang said.
