A toe-tapping good time
THE 2012 Jiading District dancing contest "Happy Dance" was a big success. Contestants were full of energy and passion, who strutted their stuff in samba, belly and various folk dances.
Most of the contestants were amateurs who work as teachers, businessmen or company employees. The contest was so attractive that it brought the old and young together. Among the participants was a nine-year-old girl performing the peacock dance and a 75-year-old grandfather showing his talent in tap dance.
One dancer said it was all about having fun.
"I don't care about the result," the contestant said. "I came here mainly to improve my dancing skill and meet some new people."
