Amazon lends its expertise to cloud computing incubator

JIADING Industrial Zone has joined up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to set up an incubator to provide cloud computing technology and finance services for startups.
The joint incubator has selected nearly 30 enterprises from 200 projects after AWS signed a development memorandum with Jiading Industrial Zone. All the enterprises in the 3,800 square meter incubator share a large office area for ease of communication.
Li Jun, founder of hairdressing company 88Yuyue said: “We had been renting servers from operation companies before using AWS for its cloud computing. Now the service charge costs much lower and the operation speed is much faster”.
“AWS is a leader in cloud computing in terms of technology, stability and resource,” said Alex Yung, vice chairman of Amazon Global and general manager of Amazon China.
AWS’s client list includes Xiaomi, Qihoo 360 and thousands of Chinese enterprises and hundreds of thousands of clients globally. Each enterprise settled in the joint incubator can enjoy cloud computing service with the highest value of 100,000 yuan (US$16,000).
Amazon’s services, including computing, storing and database, can make IT platform setup, expansion and management much easier.
