Auto industry helps drive world fair

MORE than 1,000 new energy vehicles will be provided by auto enterprises in Jiading District to World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
The companies are SAIC Group, Shanghai Zhongke Shenjiang Electric Vehicle Co Ltd, Shanghai Fuel Cell Vehicle Power Systems Co Ltd and Shanghai Leibo New Energy Auto Technology Co Ltd.
As the global automotive partner of the Expo, SAIC Group provides 970 new energy vehicles to the event. These will serve as buses for tourists or for VIP reception.
Zhongke Shenjiang is providing 25 on-site patrol cars and five for the Jiading Public Security Bureau.
Vehicles provided by Shanghai Leibo will be used at the municipal government's reception center.
Three bases for new energy vehicles to change or charge batteries have been set up by the organizing committee of Expo.
To guarantee their reliability and operation, Shanghai Fuel Cell Vehicle Power Systems Co Ltd has worked out four service booklets to guide handling, technology maintenance and emergency measures and has formed a team of 100 professionals to guarantee smooth operations.
