Busy schedule for major infrastructure

SINCE early this year, Jiading has been promoting 37 major construction projects with a total investment of 25.17 billion yuan (US$3.69 billion).
The projects involve infrastructure, industrial development and social benefits.
The district will spend 7 billion yuan on 21 projects scheduled to start this year, four of which are expected to be finished by the end of the year.
Several projects had either broken ground or been in full swing by the end of May.
The Jiamin Elevated Road project connecting the planned Huxiang Expressway (S6) and Hongqiao traffic hub will ease traffic flows for residents living in south Jiading.
Currently, 460 farmer families and almost 100 enterprises at Nanxiang and Jiangqiao towns are undergoing relocation.
The Huxiang Expressway (S6), which will start construction within the year, will run through three towns - Nanxiang, Malu and Anting - and connect to Shenhai Expressway (G15).
Other new projects include Beijiao Wetland, Jiading Long-distance Passenger Transport Terminal and Jiading Stadium.
Also, Jiading plans 22 industrial projects valued at over 30 million yuan each, 11 real estate projects exceeding 100 million yuan in value and 24 social infrastructure projects worth more than 20 million yuan apiece.
These projects have laid a solid foundation for the district's future development.
