Champagne celebration at Shanghai Circuit

MERCEDES driver Lewis Hamilton won the recent Chinese Grand Prix in Jiading with teammate Nico Rosberg second and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso third.
The race held on April 20 attracted some of the world’s finest drivers — including Sebastian Vettle, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button — as well as fans from around the globe.
This year, a new rule was implemented with a change of engines from V8 to V6, so as to be in line with F1’s attempt to be more environmental friendly. Noise level was reduced from 160db to 103db.
Outside the circuit, traditional performances, food fairs and an auto show attracted lots of visitors.
The event was a prelude to the spring and summer season at the Shanghai International Circuit which will see a feast of racing for fans during May and June.
Before that, the 2014 Shanghai Road Trip Expo and Shanghai RV Camping Show will be held at the circuit from tomorrow to May 4.
